Our Second Success
After 2016, World Hoops worked to elevate the Penang Challenger to even greater heights in 2017. The bar was high, but we rose to the occasion and delivered an incredible weekend of action and entertainment.
Sixteen teams from around the world participated in the 2017 Penang Challenger, including many ranked in the top 20. Every game drew the audience in as the crowd enjoyed each unbelievable dunk and impossible shot. The final between St. Petersburg and Ljubljana, the 2016 World Tour Finals Champions, also did not disappoint. The match went down to the last minute with Ljubljana prevailing and claiming the title.
The Challenger exceeded all expectations and once again was a success. We had excited thousands of people in our community and across the globe. Sponsors, players, and fans expressed their delight throughout the event. Penang, now a premier FIBA 3X3 destination, could not wait for 2018.
